Admission procedures

Romanian citizens, citizens from EU countries and citizens from non-EU countries can be accepted for studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iasi - study in English according to the Methodology of admitting foreign citizens for studies in the academic year 2016/2017 .

Romanian citizens, citizens from EU countries and citizens from non-EU countries can be accepted for studies at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Iasi - studies in English, for the 2017-2018 academic year, according to the Methodology of admission to studies of foreign students for the academic year 2017/2018

I. Romanian citizens

Romanian citizens may choose to study Veterinary Medicine in English under the same conditions applicable to candidates from EU-third countries member states, EU member states, the European Economic Area and the Swiss Confederation, including the tuition fees.

The application file should contain the following documents:
a. Application form (click to open)
b. The Baccalaureate diploma or equivalent - legalized copy and translation;
c. The transcript of records for the last high-school education cycle and the results of the Baccalaureate examination - legalized copy and translation;
d. Birth certificate - legalized copy);
e. Marriage certificate (if the name has changed after marriage) - legalized copy);
f. Copy of valid identity card;
g. Medical certificate to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from infectious diseases or other illnesses that are incompatible with the future profession;
h. English proficiency certificate - at least level B1 (Internationally recognized certificates are accepted);
i. Receipt for the file processing fee - see section 2;
j. Four (4) passport-size photos.

II. EU citizens

Applications can be submitted at the following address:

starting April 10th, 2017 till July 28th, 2017, for the first admission session.

Applications will NOT be received after this date.

II.1 Conditions of eligibility
- English proficiency certificate - at least level B1 (Internationally recognized certificates are accepted). Students from countries where English is the official state language do not need such a certificate
- Having documents attesting studies, issued by an accredited educational institution from the country of origin and also recognized by the Romanian Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research - National Centre for Equivalence and Recognition of Diplomas (CNRED) http://cnred.edu.ro/en/#recognition-of-studies-for-admission-to-university-in-Romania
- The candidate needs to prepare two sets of documents, one for CNRED (The National Centre for Recognition and Equivalence of Diplomas) and one for the university. Both files need to be sent to the University at the address specified above.
- According to the Ministry of National Education, all incomplete files will be rejected.

II.2 List of documents for CNRED:
a. Application form (click to open);
b. Application for recognition of studies for enrolment to undergraduate studies, 2017-2018 university year (click to open);
c. School leaving certificate/High school diploma/Baccalaureate diploma (legalized copy);
d. All the secondary school transcripts, for 9th/10th up to 12th/13th grades (copy);
e. Higher Education diploma (legalized copy), and transcript/diploma supplement (copy) - if applicable;
f. Proof of citizenship verified by an official ID or valid passport (pages 1, 2, 3, 4);
g. Copy of the receipt for the 50 Lei fee which will be deposited in the bank account owned by the Ministry of National Education.

Important: On the payment order or postal order issued, the IBAN code must appear for the payment to be valid!

II.3 Important
Original diplomas from Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal and Cyprus need to bear the Hague Convention Apostille from the Authorities of the country that issued the document.
"Certificate for maturita exam" from Italy, "Pruebas de Aptitud para el Acceso a la Universidad, calificación Apto" from Spain, and "Certificate for Panellinies Exetaseis" from Greece must bear the Hague Apostille Convention.
Original diplomas issued in countries which are not part of the Hague Apostille Convention must be authenticated by: the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the issuing country, the Embassy of Romania in that country and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania or the Ministry of Education of the issuing country, the Embassy of the issuing country in Romania and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
Documents in languages other than English and French must be accompanied by certified Romanian translations - in original.
Translations made in Greece will be legalized by the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

II.4 Documents required for the admission
a. Application form;
b. Legalized copy of the High School graduation diploma or its equivalent (certified copy);
c. detailed mark-sheets/transcripts containing the subjects and grades for all high school years (simple copy);
d. A copy of the passport
e. Legalized copy of the birth certificate
f. Medical certificate (in a widespread international language) to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from infectious diseases or other illnesses that are incompatible with the future profession
g. 4 photos (passport size)
h. English proficiency certificate - minimum B1 level

III. Non-EU citizens

- In addition to the documents mentioned in the admission procedure, the candidates applying to the Veterinary Medicine Faculty must also prepare the following documents:

c. The transcript of records for the last high-school education cycle and the results of the Baccalaureate examination - legalized copy and translation;
d. Birth certificate - legalized copy);
e. Marriage certificate (if the name has changed after marriage) - legalized copy);
f. Copy of valid identity card;
g. Medical certificate to prove that the person to be registered for studies does not suffer from infectious diseases or other illnesses that are incompatible with the future profession;
h. English proficiency certificate - at least level B1 (Internationally recognized certificates are accepted);

III.3 The application file must contain the following documents (in two copies)
a. Application for the issuance of the Letter of acceptance to studies (click to open). All information requested in the form needs to be filled in and 2 photos must be attached. The form must be in duplicate;
b. Application form (click to open);
c. The Baccalaureate diploma or an equivalent - legalized copy and translation (translated if the original is in a language other than English or French);
d. The transcript of records for the last high-school education cycle and the results for the baccalaureate examination - legalized copy and legalized translation and legalized translation (if the original is in a language other than English or French);
e. Birth certificate - legalized copy and translation (if the original is in a language other than English or French);
f. Marriage certificate - if the applicant's name has changed after marriage;
g. Passport copies (pages 1,2,3,4) or copy of an official ID valid for at least 6 months after the date of the issuance of the Letter of acceptance to studies;
h. Medical certificate specifying that the candidate does not have any contagious diseases or any other diseases incompatible with the profession and proving the applicant's health;
i. English proficiency certificate - at least B1 level (Internationally recognized certificates are accepted). Students from countries where English is the official state language do not need such a certificate.

Bear in mind that:
- Documents in languages other than English or French must be accompanied by a certified translation in Romanian;
- Documents belonging to applicants from non-EU countries must first be authenticated by the Romanian Embassy in the applicant's country.

III.4 The candidates will send their files directly to the University where the files are evaluated and the list of the proposed candidates and the study documents are sent to the Ministry of National Education and Scientific Research - General Direction for International Relations. The General Direction for International Relations will issue the Letter of acceptance for studies and will send it to the University.

III.5 Candidates from non-EU countries must obtain the study visa from the Romanian Embassy in the country of origin which is granted based on the Letter of Acceptance issued by The General Direction for International Relations of the Romanian Ministry of National Education.
