PROJECT OBJECTIVES

  1. Establishment of the predictability of the changes in soil properties, induced by traffic and tillage, by development of physical models for soil interactions;

  2. Improvement of the shape of soil tillage tools with impact on soil structure, in order to decrease the resisatance force and soil compaction.

  3. Development of some models using the Finite Element Method (FEM), with regard to tyre wheel traction, soil compaction due to agricultural traffic, working process of soil tillage tools (without furrow rollover)

  4. Assessment of the influence of the soils’ characteristics  over the developed models;

  5. Design and achievement of a test laboratory for agricultural machines;

  6. F.E.M. models validation through laboratory tests;

  7. Field tests for evaluation of the power and technological indexes of the tractor-agricultural machine units;

  8. Comparative analysis of the theoretical, laboratory and field results  for final models validation;

  9. Conclusions regarding the validity of the developed models (with reference to the physical characteristics of the soil)  and the improvement of the tillage tools working process;

  10. Estimations upon the predicted economical effects (decrease of the traction force and power consumptions; effect of the preservative tillage system over the production);

  11. Large scale dissemination of the results.

ECONOMIC, SOCIAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT

Economic impact

- decreasing of the costs for mechanized soil works and also of the production expenses, taking into account that these technologic inputs have a ratio of 35-40% from the total costs;

- increasing of the agricultural production on square unit by creating specific optimal conditions for each crop specie;

- create preservation conditions of soil by making a minimum number of works for each specie of plants.

Social impact

- increasing of the social stability in rural areas by improving work conditions;

- increasing of food safety by realization of the necessary agricultural products.

Environmental impact

- assurement of soils’ preservation conditions by decreasing the degradation of its properties by agricultural works;

- pollution decreasing by reducing the soil tillage energetic consumptions.
