Project summary

 

The project sets the task of approaching an issue of actuality and scientific/technical necessity.  This aspect is caused by the vulnerability of fresh ecological vegetable production as a result of certain risk factors that can reduce and/or endanger food safety and security. Under these circumstances, the project intends to demonstrate the extent of this vulnerability and to elaborate measures for controlling and diminishing the effects of the involved factors in order to increase food safety and security for ecological fresh vegetables and the trust of the Romanian ecological products on domestic and european markets.

Research will be accomplished by a scientific consortium with competence in ecological crops. This consortium has a coordinator (CO) – University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Iasi and other four participants (P): P1 – Vegetable Research-Development Station Bacau, P2 – Biological Research Institute from Iasi; P3 – The Alexandru Ioan Cuza University of Iasi and P4 – Institute of Public Health Iasi. The research’framework will be provided on their experimental fields and laboratories specialized in ecological vegetable production and/or food safety.

The project is included in Domain 5 – Agriculture, food safety and security and in the following themes: 5.1.1., 5.1.2., 5.1.3., 5.1.7., 5.1.8. si 5.1.9.
