Project abstract [back to TOP ]
Approaching of
January 1, 2012 deadline (moment from which technological systems used in EU
members poultry production should be compulsory adapted to the community
rules related to animals welfare) raised certain controversies on chicken
meat and hens eggs quality, as they are produced in the conventional rearing
systems. The main goal of the research project is to realise an objective
study on the nutritional-dietetic quality of products issued from chicken
broilers and laying hens hybrids, reared under conventional conditions of
technological system (ground and cage) as well as under free-range
alternative conditions (rearing at ground, providing full access of fowl
outside the hall, in a grassy paddock). Certain products that already are in
the agri-food marked in Romania will be
studied; two trials will be setup in order to investigate fowl rearing within
the previously specified systems. or. During these
experiments, there will be run assessments related to haematology and blood
serum biochemical traits, in order to trace any stressful status that culd affect poultry products. Their quality will be
evaluated through inner chemical composition (water, dry matter, minerals,
lipids, proteins and nitrogen free extract), through nutritional-dietetic
value (content of amino acids, saturated and unsaturated fatty acids,
cholesterol, caloricity) as well as through come investigations needed to
detect the occurrence of any hormones-stress markers, such as corticosterone. The results will contribute to the impartial
notifying of poultry farmers, of products processors and especially of
customers, which are the most influenced by the controversies served
sometimes with insufficiently scientific documentation by the national
mass-media.
