ProdAgroLab

SUMMARY OF THE PROJECT

Romania's joining European Union's Market involves the development of laboratories for certifying the conformity of farm produces and their quality. This is necessary for increasing food safety, for internal consumption and for produces reaching the EU market.
The goal of our Project is to create a performance laboratory with modern technical endowments, for carrying out various analyses on soil and plants, according to European standards (knowing their influence on the quality of food produces). Thus, the laboratory will be able to carry out current analyses, but also high-complexity degree analyses (the soil and plant content, the content in heavy metals, pesticides, nitrates/nitrites, etc. of vegetal farm produces), which will result in research diversifying and specializing, according to European objectives.
The Project aims at an important field of EU integration - the quality of farm produces and soil. The quality assessment is regulated by the European Forum and integrated in the Romanian legislation, being identified with the objectives and theme content of Module IV from CEEX Programme.
Once with Romania's integration into EU, accrediting this laboratory becomes more important as our region is situated at the Eastern border of Romania, and border safety is a vital problem from the point of view of quality control and conformity of farm produces. This laboratory will be very useful, both to public authorities having tasks in the process of market and environment survey, and to farmers and processors, in order to follow and control/certify the quality of produces - compulsory measure foreseen by European directives.
