EFFECTS OF FEEDING DIFFERENT LEVELS OF GUAR MEAL ON PERFORMANCE AND BLOOD METABOLITES IN HOLSTEIN LACTATING COWS

Abstract
A study was carried out to determine the effects of using different levels of Guar meal on performance and blood metabolites in Holstein lactating cows. Sixteen lactating Holstein cows (DIM=95±10) were used in Latin square design with 4 block and 4 repeats. Animal in each group fed 1 of 4 experimental rations. Diets contain 0, 50, 75 and 100 percentage cottonseed meal were replaced with gaur meal. Diets were similar as NEL and crude protein (Iso caloric and iso nitrogenous) on dry basis. Cows were fed with total mixed ration individually. Dry matter intake and milk yields were higher for cows fed with 0% guar meal and lowest for 100 cottonseed meal replaced by guar meal, but no significant difference were found among FCM 4%. Milk fat and protein percentage and yields were highest for 50 % Guar meal, but no significant difference was found between milk lactose and calcium. Milk Urea Nitrogen and blood urea nitrogen were not significantly affected by experimental diets.

EFECTELE UTILIZĂRII UNOR NIVELURI DIFERITE DE FĂINĂ DE GUAR ASUPRA PERFORMANŢEI ŞI METABOLIŢILOR SANGUIN LA VACILE LACTANTE HOLSTEIN

Rezumat
Studiul de fata a fost īntreprins pentru a identifica efectele utilizarii a diferite nivelului de faina de Guar asupra performantei productive si metabolitilor sanguini a vacilor Holstein. Saizeci de vaci din aceasta rasa (DIM=95±10) au fost utilizate, īn acord cu un model experimental de tip patrat latin cu 4 blocuri si 4 repetitii. Animalele din fiecare grup au fost hranite cu cāte una din cele 4 versiuni de ratii experimentale, īn care faina de seminte de bumbac a fost īnlocuita īn proportii de 0, 50, 75 si 100% cu faina guar. Ratiile au prezentat niveluri identice de ENL si proteina bruta (izocalorice si izoproteice) īn substanta uscata. Vacile au fost hranite cu ratie completa individuala. Ingestia de substanta uscata si nivelurile productiei de lapte au fost mai mari la vacile hranite cu ratii īn care nu s-a inclus faina de guar, respective cele mai reduse, īn care rata de īnlocuire a semintelor de bumbac a fost de 100. Cu toate acestea, nu s-au identificat diferente semnificative īntre FCM 4%. Cantitatile si procentele de grasime si proteina din lapte au fost cele mai mari īn cadrul utilizarii a 50 % faina de Guar, dar nu s-au īnregistrat diferente semnificative īn privinta continutului de lactoza si calciu. Nivelurile de azot ureic din lapte si sānge nu au fost influentate semnificativ de ratiile experimentale.
