THE INDUCTION OF TWINNING BIRTH IN FATTY TAIL EWES BY USING LOW DOSE OF PMSG

Abstract
The aims of the research were to know the effect of low dose of PMSG for inducing twinning birth in Fatty Tail ewes. Thirty ewes were divided into two groups, each ewe of the first group (control, n=15) was given 5 mg PGF_2α by intramuscular injection. Another 15 ewes in the second group were given combination of 100 IU PMSG and 5 mg PGF_2α intramuscular each. The results showed that 100 % of ewes in second group revealed estrus in 33.95 ± 9.45 hours after injection and had 2-3 lambs twinning pregnancies. The ewes in the first group showed that only 80% revealed estrus in 36.51 ± 10.25 hours after injection and 83.35% of those had 1 - 2 lambs twinning pregnancies.

INDUCEREA FĂTĂRILOR GEMELARE LA OILE DE TIP KURDUK, PRIN UTILIZAREA UNOR DOZE REDUSE DE PMSG

Rezumat
Scopul cercetărilor a fost de a identifica efectul dozelor scăzute de PMSG asupra inducerii fătărilor gemelare la oile cu coada grasă. Treizeci de oi au fost repartizate în două loturi. Fiecare oaie din primul grup (control, n=15) a primit 5 mg PGF_2α prin injectare intramusculară. Celelalte 15 oi din al doilea lot au primit, pe aceeaşi cale, un amestec de 100 IU PMSG şi 5 mg PGF_2α. Rezultatele au indicat că tot efectivul celui de-al doilea lot au manifestat călduri la intervalul de 33.95 ± 9.45 ore post tratament, obţinându-se gestaţii gemelare cu 2-3 miei. Oile din primul lot au manifestat căldurile în proporţie de doar 80%, la 36.51 ± 10.25 ore după tratament, ceea ce a condus ca 83.35% dintre acestea să aibă gestaţii gemelare.
