COMPARATIVE PRODUCTION PERFORMANCES OF CERTAIN PIC GENOTYPES IN SWINE COMMERCIAL FARMING

Abstract
Official statistics referring to the Romanian swine industry performances in 2008 are still far from the average production figures in the main European countries. This seems to be rather a paradox considering the large amount on investments made by most of the farms both in technology and genetic. The present paper is focusing on some production performance of PIC genotypes during 2008, in several large scale commercial farms. Comparisons are made either between genotypes in the same farm or as difference to the average Romanian performances reported in 2008. In order to keep maximum objectivity each trait considered was assessed by attaching to it an estimated economical value.

Rezumat
Datele preliminare ce privesc productia suina în anul 2008, asa cum apar acestea în sursele de informatii statistice oficiale, se afla înca departe de valoarea medie a tarilor cu traditie în cresterea porcilor din Uniunea Europeana. Aspectul pare oarecum paradoxal întrucât o mare parte din fermele care exploateaza porcine în flux comercial, au depus eforturi financiare considerabile atât pentru modernizarea infrastructurii acestora, cât si a genotipurilor utilizate.
Prezenta lucrare face referire la performantele unor genotipuri PIC, exploatate în mai multe ferme comerciale din diferite zone ale tarii, comparatia fiind realizata atât între genotipurile existente în fermele analizate în anul 2008, cât si fata de media performantelor similare la nivel de tara, asa cum au fost acestea publicate oficial. Pentru o evaluare comparativa obiectiva a performantelor productive prezentate, acestora li s-au atasat valori economice estimative pentru fiecare parametru analizat.
