Project summary:

   The project has a main goal the implementation of a integrative programme of health, and production quality management in dairy cows by monitoring of a large category of dates: general status of the animals, clinical exam, paraclinical exams (ultrasound, blood and urine biochemistry, bacteriological, virusological, serological), reproduction parameters, housing conditions, nutrition, milk production and it’s quality, molecular markers, veterinary actions and their results.
   The analisys and synthesys of all the dates will allow to establish a herd diagnostic, the identification of hazard factors for health and production and the elaboration of a plan of action for short and long term.

Project objectives:

   1. Monitoring of metabolic health status by clinical and paraclinical exams 2. Control of transmisible diseases (infectious and parasistic).

   3. Identification of some molecular alterations correlated with health status in dairy milk and mixed cows.
   4. Monitoring of reproduction parameters and the use of modern biotechnologies to optimize the production.
   5. Monitoring of milk production parameters (quality, quantity, type of caseine, somatic cells) correlated with metabolic health. Analisys of molecular parameters in dairy and mixed cows.
   6. Monitoring of hazard factors for milk production and health: mocroenvironment, environment, fooder and pasture quality and improvement of dairy cows welfhare.
   7. Elaboration and implementation of a programme of health, reproduction and production management and dissemination of the results.
